Worse than the model they made in previous years!
I'm not sure why this jacket is made of a cheaper feeling, less smooth, less shiny nylon material than the one they used to make... Probably cost-cutting. The fabric has a more matte finish than the older ones they used to make and the seamless design makes this look less baffled and less puffy in the compartmentalized down areas. Also, the hood and sleeve cuffs no longer has the nice elastic edge trim, which gives this jacket a cheaper look. The sleeve cuffs in particular are annoying. The sleeves just rolls over at the end rather than coming to a nice gathered end like the old ones. Now there is a hidden elastic band inside the sleeve about 1 inch up from the end of the cuff, which feels like you are wearing a rubber band around your wrist and it is located higher up on the wrist than you would expect. They should have just put the elastic at the end of the sleeve like the old one. I also ordered the Ultra Light down vest and noticed that the material on the vest is WAY NICER than the material used on this jacket - it is smoother, shinier and feels more like an expensive designer product. It is clear based on my past purchases of similar products a few years ago, that Uniqlo's move toward the seamless ultra light down looks worse, feels lower quality and is less comfortable.

love these! bought two more
I bought two more of these on sale, both size M, one in pink (which is more of a muted red) and another in blue for a backup. i plan to wear the pink one for winter cycling. these parkas are light but super warm and great for layering or just wearing over a dress, etc. perfect for this freezing cold winter we’ve been having on the east coast!
